What is PayLab?

PayLab bundles 15 everyday wage and salary calculators plus 3 reference tables: hourly-to-salary and salary-to-hourly conversion, paycheck frequency comparison, overtime and double-time pay, time-and-a-half rates, a weekly timesheet with breaks, commission, prorated salary, pay-raise percentage, salary-vs-inflation real wage, flat-percentage take-home and net-to-gross estimates, freelance hourly rate, employee-vs-contractor cost, and salary comparison. Everything is computed locally with no server, no account, and no upload.

How does it work?

Each calculator runs as client-side JavaScript using transparent arithmetic — for example annual salary = hourly rate × hours/week × weeks/year, overtime pay = rate × multiplier × overtime hours, and net estimate = gross × (1 − your deduction %). PayLab deliberately contains no country tax tables: percentages, thresholds and multipliers are always your inputs, so results stay generic and never go out of date.

When should I use it?

Use PayLab when comparing a job offer quoted per hour against a salary, checking what an overtime week should pay, adding up timesheet hours, sizing a raise against inflation, working out the freelance rate to quote, or estimating take-home pay with your own deduction percentage. Estimates only — verify anything contractual against your payslip, contract or local law.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an hourly wage to a yearly salary?

Multiply the hourly rate by hours per week and weeks per year. At the standard full-time basis of 40 hours and 52 weeks (2,080 hours/year), 20 per hour is 41,600 per year. PayLab also shows monthly, biweekly, weekly and daily equivalents.

Does PayLab calculate my taxes?

No. The take-home and net-to-gross tools apply one flat deduction percentage that you choose. They are generic estimates, not calculations from any country's tax tables — real withholding differs by jurisdiction and personal situation.

Which overtime rules does the overtime calculator use?

None by default — you set the threshold hours and multipliers yourself (presets include 1.5× and 2×, and typical values like Japan's statutory 1.25× are listed in a reference table). Rules vary by country and contract, so PayLab never hard-codes any law.

Is my salary data uploaded?

No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs never leave your device.

Do I need an account?

No. PayLab is free, needs no sign-up or install, works offline once loaded, and is available in English, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese and German.
